Conference Session Preview: Why Regulatory Development Favors RIM Growth!

January 10, 2019

Dr. Ross Federgreen is no stranger to PRISM International members. He’s spoken at the annual conference frequently and is widely considered a leading authority on the impact of regulatory changes.

But if anyone thinks they already know what he has to say, they had better think again. This year he’ll explain how emerging regulatory changes (and changes in case law) are about to leverage demand for data security services to an all-time high.

In his session, titled, The Last Domino: How Removing the “Proof of Damages” Will Intensify Demand for Data Protection and Governance Services, Dr. Federgreen will detail how the “demonstrated damages” requirement for legal standing has been
cast aside by new laws in Europe and now in California. And, why violators no longer shielded by the requirement will finally be subject to devastating class action suits.

“No one should forget Breach Notification started in California,” cautions Dr. Federgreen. “With the GDPR and California making this move, it won’t be long before it sweeps the nation and the world.”

In this session, Dr. Federgreen will expand on the nature
and implications of this sea of change and explain how getting in front of it translates into the potential for growth.

The Last Domino: How Removing the “Proof of Damages” Will Intensify Demand for Data Protection and Governance Services will be held at 11 a.m. April 13, 2019.
