NAID’s CEO names his favorite blog entries
July 3, 2013
Having reached the midpoint of 2013, I thought I’d use this time to point out some of my favorite blog postings from the past six months. With over 50 to choose from, it was not an easy task because it was like choosing between my children.
- In “Data destruction: The challenge of loaded terminology,”posted on Jan. 8, we set the stage for what would end up being the NAID ‘em campaign.
- In “HITECH will ignite great opportunities in the secure destruction industry,” posted on Jan. 17, I forecasted what I expected from the pending HITECH Final Rule. Turns out it was a pretty good forecast.
- I like the “2013 board candidates represent average members,” posted on Jan. 31, because it reminds members that the organization is not some distant ivory tower but run by businesspeople just like them.
- From March 14, “Depth of NAID structure often overlooked” examines the fact that the organization’s operating structure is deep and relies on hundreds of average members to function. Just go to the NAID leadership pageto see how deep.
We have also heard from many guest bloggers over the last six months, all of which have made great contributions. Here are just a couple posts I enjoyed but I could have easily listed all of them.
- Posted on Feb. 16, Reclamere CEO, NAID Certification Rules Chair, and NAID Board of Directors member Angie Singer Keating wrote “Common small business security risks threaten your business.” In this post and at her NAID 2013 session she proved she knew her stuff.
- On March 12, Paul Garfunkel, Intek Truck and Equipment Leasing and NAID Board Vendor Liaison, gave us “Social media is online networking for your business” and he went on to deliver as promised at NAID 2013.
But rather than take my word for it, why not check out all the titles in this year’s NAIDnotes. You will undoubtedly find many worth reading and many that will help your business. And, if you like what you see, go wild and check out last year’s blog posts as well.
