Board Approves Bylaws Amendment Allowing Electronic Elections

November 12, 2019

The i-SIGMA Board of Directors has approved a bylaws amendment that removed language that unintentionally prevented electronic balloting for the upcoming Board election.

As the i-SIGMA CEO explains, “The bylaws permitted electronic voting by members, which is common in all associations these days. Unfortunately, they also contained an obsolete provision that required the re-opening of nominations on the floor of the annual membership meeting. By removing the redundant opening of nominations, an electronic vote can be held.”

According to Johnson, the change makes the elections far more democratic. “Holding the elections electronically allows all eligible voters to participate,” said Johnson. “Without the amendment, only those attending the membership meeting could vote.”
