New Contract One of Many Highlights at Upcoming ANZ Conference

June 26, 2019

Included among the impressive list of unveilings at the 18 July i-SIGMA ANZ Conference is the new, highly anticipated RIM/Destruction Service Provider contract.  And, according to i-SIGMA CEO Bob Johnson, the timing is perfect.

“Changes in privacy and data protection laws have made contracts a critical interface between service providers and their clients,” says Johnson. “And, as is usually the case, most prospective customers are unaware. It is the perfect scenario for a knowledgeable professional to open their eyes and get their business in the process.”

The contract is the culmination of two-years work, including contributions from legal and privacy professionals in Europe, the United States and Australia at a cost of tens of thousands of dollars. “Very few if any service providers or clients have access to the resources and knowledge-base applied to this document,” says Johnson. “i-SIGMA members armed with it, have something very unique to offer.”

Johnson says the benefits of the new contract include:

  • Defining reasonable service provider liability
  • Capturing a greater percent of discarded media
  • Limiting (or eliminating) competitive challenges
  • Improving the clients’ regulatory compliance
  • Lowering the clients’ data protection risk exposure

But he also says there is a catch.  “In order to use the contract to its full potential,” says Johnson, “service providers must be able to speak intelligently about it. That is why we are presenting at the conference. It is not something you hand to the customer.”

The new i-SIGMA Data-related Service Provider Contract will be unveiled at the i-SIGMA ANZ Conference on 18 July in Sydney, NSW. Space is limited and those interested in attending are encouraged to act quickly.
