i-SIGMA Survey Results Part 2: The Impact of the COVID-19 Outbreak on IG Industry Businesses – Analyzing Revenue Lost

In looking more closely at last week’s survey results to analyze commonalities between those seeing the greatest and least revenue losses, we can draw a few conclusions. It seems that businesses operating in Records Management are the most protected against the immediate losses of the pandemic, as one would expect based on the business model. While data destruction companies in general have varied widely in the amount of losses, regardless of market or marketing efforts it seems that as with natural disasters and viruses themselves, the economic impact of a pandemic can feel at random.

Government of Canada Launches Applications for the Canada Emergency Wage Subsidy

The application process is now open for the Canada Emergency Wage Subsidy (CEWS). This program will pay 75% of an eligible employee’s weekly wages (to a maximum of $847/week) for up to four months for eligible employers. The Government hopes to have the money flowing to approved applicants by May 7.
