The International Secure Information Governance & Management Association™ (i-SIGMA™) formed in 2018 by the joining of two long-established associations in the industry: the National Association for Information® (NAID®) and PRISM International™ (Professional Records and Information Services Management®). i-SIGMA respects your privacy and is committed to protecting the privacy of our members and customers. This online privacy statement explains how we collect, use and safeguard information on our website. This Internet Privacy Statement applies only to information collected by us through the website and electronic newsletter (e-newsletter). What information does i-SIGMA gather online?

Every time you visit an i-SIGMA website, i-SIGMA uses Google Analytics which automatically collects your IP address (the Internet address of your computer), the Web page from which you came and a record of your activity on i-SIGMA’s sites. i-SIGMA does not sell any user information to outside organizations.

For some areas of our website, we may ask you to voluntarily provide additional information in order to fulfill a request or to subscribe you to a i-SIGMA information vehicle. This information might include a person’s name, e-mail address, company information, mailing address, application information, product preferences, or contact information and preferences. This information is securely collected via a third-party api or site, but that data is not shared with those parties for any marketing usage – only for the purpose of i-SIGMA to conduct business activities with you as requested. i-SIGMA will destroy and discontinue using any personal information with which it has been provided if so requested at any time by that individual; i-SIGMA cannot delete personal information that must be retained for the legal reasons related to certain business transactions.

How does i-SIGMA use information collected about me?

i-SIGMA only accepts personal information voluntarily provided by individuals who are seeking i-SIGMA resources in some form or another. i-SIGMA only uses such information for the purpose it was originally provided unless permission is otherwise granted by the individual. In some cases, member information is posted for public display on the websites to promote their business. This is optional and any i-SIGMA member/member representative may decline this member benefit if they so choose.

How does i-SIGMA use cookies?

i-SIGMA uses Google Analytics cookies to enable us to measure general site performance metrics. Allowing us to analyze site traffic enables us to work toward a better user experience for all site visitors.

How do I know my information is secure?

i-SIGMA has invested time and resources to ensure that our online security procedures help safeguard your information. We use standard firewalls to prevent intrusion.

Is my information shared with third parties?

i-SIGMA will not share any personal information with anyone except in cases where permission is granted in advance and only for the purpose authorized under the permission granted by the individual in question. Information is stored for the exclusive use of i-SIGMA. i-SIGMA does utilize third-party partners in the management of data; they have no permission to market or utilize that data for any purpose except to assist i-SIGMA in data management.

How can I update my information or remove myself from your customer database?

Any personal or member information which i-SIGMA has on file may be updated or reviewed by sending an email requesting such to [email protected].

Please give two to four weeks for these changes to take effect in our internal customer databases. Upon request, i-SIGMA will also gladly delete personal information from all publicly displayed databases on our websites. i-SIGMA cannot delete personal information that must be retained for the legal reasons related to certain business transactions.

How does the i-SIGMA privacy statement affect me outside the U.S.?

To the extent applicable, i-SIGMA attempts to comply with local data protection rights laws. If you are unsure whether this privacy statement is in conflict with applicable local rules, you should not submit your information. IF YOU ARE LOCATED WITHIN THE EUROPEAN UNION, YOU SHOULD NOTE THAT YOUR INFORMATION WILL BE TRANSFERRED TO THE UNITED STATES, WHICH IS DEEMED BY THE EUROPEAN UNION TO HAVE INADEQUATE DATA PROTECTION. We have made an effort to add greater protection. Nevertheless, in accordance with local laws implementing European Union Directive 95/46/EC of 24 October 1995 on the protection of individuals with regard to the processing of personal data and on the free movement of such data (“EU Privacy Directive”), customers located in countries outside of the United States of America who submit personal information do thereby consent to the general use of such information as provided in this Privacy Statement and to its transfer to and/or storage in the United States of America.

Is my information public in public forums?

Please remember that any information (including personal information) that you disclose in public areas connected to our website, such as social media, or other public forums such as tradeshows or conventions, becomes public information that others may collect, circulate, and use.
