Samantha Gavel

NSW Privacy Commissioner

Samantha Gavel was appointed as NSW Privacy Commissioner on 4 September 2017. Ms Gavel’s role is to promote public awareness and understanding of privacy rights in NSW, as well as providing information, support, advice and assistance to agencies and the general public. Her responsibilities include the preparation of reports recommending legislative, administrative or other action in the interests of privacy as well as conducting inquiries and investigations into privacy related matters.

Ms Gavel has the power to deal with complaints about privacy matters, monitor agency functions and report and make recommendations about proposals for legislative or administrative change.



Robert Johnson, CSDS

i-SIGMA

With over 40 years experience, including 12 years running a large regional secure destruction service, more than 25 years at NAID, and finally as the CEO of the NAID and PRISM International merged i-SIGMA, Bob Johnson is widely regarded as the leading authority in the secure destruction industry.

This will be Johnson’s final year of presenting and speaking, as he will be retiring come 2023. Johnson founded and continues to lead as CEO of i-SIGMA. He speaks, writes, educates and consults on data disposal, data protection regulations, employee compliance strategies, vender qualifications and certifications, and data protection policy development for policy makers, industry publications, data protection and privacy professionals and a broad range of related associations.

Michael Dunstone

Grace Records Management

Michael has been working within the Information Management Industry since 1994, first joining Millers Document Services in an operational role, before moving into sales and line management. He has actively promoted IM services such as sentencing, data capture, and digitization, all of which now form a large component of Grace’s offering to their clients. Michael’s passion is customer service and account management; he spends a lot of time meeting with businesses understanding their challenges, then working together to create and propose solutions. As Director of Grace Information Management, Michael oversees a business that operates out of 26 locations throughout Australia and offers services including secure hard copy storage, digitization services, data management as well as secure confidential destruction. He manages a team of over 350 professional staff, proactively providing quality service delivery and customer service to over 12,000 clients.

Kurt Gruber

WV Technologies


Kurt Gruber is co-founder of WV Technologies which is an Indigenous-owned certified Social Enterprise with a focus on delivering the best-in-class IT Asset Disposals services, to the highest levels of compliance, in the Australian industry. WV Tech has approximately 50 staff (with around 50% of those being Aboriginal Australians) at sites in Canberra, Melbourne, Brisbane, along with smaller sites in Sydney and Perth. Kurt can advise on the application of the various regulatory frameworks to the latest IT technologies and how organisations can remain compliant while also maximising environmental, societal, and value recovery outcomes from their redundant IT.



Rob is the founder, owner, and CEO of two start up secure on-site document destruction businesses. He started The Mobile Shredding Company in 2006 with a mobile shredding truck, a mobile phone, and a desire to bring a world class modern mobile shredding service to his local community; today, the company operates four mobile trucks and services business large and small in the Newcastle, Central Coast, and Hunter Valley regions. Total Shredding was the expansion of the business into the Greater Sydney market in 2019. Rob’s philosophy in business is built on great customer service from both the operations and administration teams, delivering a world class mobile shredding service to valued customers. A long-time member of NAID, now iSIGMA, Rob is NAID AAA Certified.



Ethan Lancaster

Ethan Lancaster is the Group Head of Operations at Renew IT. Renew IT is an IT Asset Disposition business focusing on complete Asset Lifecycle services for Public, Private and Government Organisations across Australia, New Zealand and America. These services include Asset Deployment, Field Services, Asset Recovery and Decommissioning Services, and Sustainable Recycling. Renew IT is one of Australia’s first ITAD Organisations with a proven track record over the 15-years of operations and numerous industry accolades in recent years.




Brock Miller, CSDS

Shred Northwest


Brock Miller is the president of Shred Northwest, which he built from the ground up over the past 13 years. Shred Northwest is NAID AAA Certified and has hundreds of online reviews from great customers. Shred Northwest provides services to thousands of local, and prestigious organizations annually in the pacific northwest, and domestically with amazing NAID AAA Certified partners. Brock also owns and operates other businesses from diverse industries and locations, in addition to Shred Northwest. He currently serves as the immediate past president of i-SIGMA and is a Certified Secure Destruction Specialist (CSDS). He has also served i-SIGMA (and previously NAID) as the association’s Treasurer, Secretary, Director, Committee Chair, and was selected as Member of the Year, together with his fellow Complaint Resolution Council members in 2015, and then again individually in 2016.



Renèe Pryor

Shred-X


Renèe is the i-SIGMA ANZ Chairperson and has served on the i-SIGMA Board of Directors since 2018. In her day to day role, Renèe is the National Sales and Marketing Manager at Shred-X, having joined the business in early 2003 when the secure destruction industry was in its infancy in Australia. Over the past 19 years, Renèe has held various roles within the Shred-X business and is also a member of the company’s Senior Leadership team. Shred-X was one of the foundation members of NAID ANZ and has supported the growth of i-SIGMA (formerly NAID) in ANZ since this time including promoting the importance of AAA certification.



Dave Rogers

Dave Rogers is the National E-Destruction & Repurposing Manager at Shred-X (Sydney, Australia). Rogers has 30+ years in operations & project management, with the past 10 years focussed on data destruction within AU which has expanded into repurposing & recycling over the past 3-4 years and now leading a dedicated team in further developing our national capabilities and service offerings along with working with global partners in developing leading data destruction equipment.
