Deemed Essential Services

Based on a thorough review of the guidance from multiple governments, i-SIGMA has released a statement that it is clear that information management, IT asset disposal, and secure data destruction are included in “essential services” to carry on during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Essential Services Letter to Law Enforcement

i-SIGMA has created a generic letter that can be presented to law enforcement authorities explaining service providers’ Essential Services status. i-SIGMA members may use the letter as is, or may wish to use some of the language to create their own. When creating a customized letter, members are advised to reference their local governing body’s definition on what are considered Essential Services.

Families First Coronavirus Response Act

The Families First Coronavirus Response Act was fast tracked through Congress and signed into law on 18 March 2020. i-SIGMA will work on breaking down what this means for service providers in the IG Industry in the coming days. You can learn about this legislation here.
